| He hates his position in the Koopa Troop, but he has never really complained about it, under the fear of becoming Bowser's new soup bowl. He is the holder of the Oress known as Kineti(Formerly Narelle.) He has a side anyone has yet to see, and only comes out when he is extremely bored. He becomes a devilish prankster, and by the time he's had his fun, nearly every law in a given town would have been broken.

| He gained the ability to shapeshift after winning a game of Grunty's Furnace Fun by a hair, thanks to the help of Kooper, the famous blue shelled Koopa from Paper Mario.

| Spiny has a fear of fire after having his tail nearly burned to the bone by a yellow Pikmin, and hides in his shell and cowers whenever he sees a large amount of flames.
