The dump was a cesspool of spam, flooding, flaming, and memes. The dump was replaced by "Off-Topic." You may not flame or flood in Off-Topic.
The dump nuke was an event, in which the dump was cleared of all topics. There was a flood of countdown topics right before it hit. The reason Francis launched the nuke was to clear it of the recent flames... WITH A FIREY EXPLOSION!
