This fad was started by ? Block (At the time, Fancy Wario). However, he had been using it for quite some time beforehand; it became famous when he put it in his signature.
He had typed in the text,"FRANCIS BRING BACK NAMETAGS DAMMIT" into his signature, and eventually it stuck to his reputation. Somewhat often, members use just "Nametags, dammit." as a reference, but sometimes, the entire phrase is said to demand the recently hinted-at Temporary Nametags. If the entire phrase is used, it must be in [lb] tags; otherwise, you're doing it wrong. Also, contrary to what the title of this article implies, there CANNOT be an exclamation point or a comma. ESPECIALLY a comma. If you use a comma, then you seriously need to go die.

As of June 29, 2008, the phrase will lose potency, for Francis has in fact brought back nametags. dammit.
